The Super Mart
Food prices in Nigeria have been rising steadily for years, with food inflation averaging 12.12% between 1996 and 2021. This ongoing increase is largely due to challenges like attacks on farms, a shortage of foreign exchange, and the devaluation of the naira. These issues have made it difficult to produce enough food locally, while demand keeps growing. As a result, many Nigerians, especially those at the bottom of the economic ladder, are finding it harder to afford basic meals.
To help ease this burden, the Super-Mart project will offer essential food items to less-privileged community members at subsidized prices. The goal is to make sure people can access the nutrition they need without going hungry. We also have a sustainable plan in place to support the local production of these food items, ensuring long-term food security and reducing dependence on external sources.
